Mushroom Farm, the largest private employer in the beautiful, high alpine San
Luis Valley, has been a going concern since the early 1980's. Under current ownership
since 1984, Rakhra has established itself as the quality fresh mushroom provider
of choice in the major markets it serves in Devner, Colorado & Albuquerque,
New Mexico.
A year around agricultural
entity, Rakhra employes up to 270-residents of the Valley, primarily from the
Alamosa area. The company is highly regarded in the Valley as a stable source
of jobs in this region of Colorado, and many of its employees have worked much
of their careers within its facilities.
2008
was a benchmark year for Rakhra, with their highest productivity rates ever, growing
more than 6-lbs of quality fresh mushrooms per square foot of growing bed area.
This translates to a potential of up to, and over 15MM-lbs annually, making Rakhra
the largest volume, and most stable source for quality mushrooms in the markets
they serve. Rakhra is proud to be
